    Hey Steve
I want to thank you for your reflections and post on the site regarding Jeff "Tain" Watts. If not for your post I would have not focused on his playing. What a treat this has been for me. I absolutely love his solo recordings and have really begun to dig out his playing with others.

Please forward any "Tain" musts if you haven't already. I've spent a majority of my life listenng to pop-rock/fusion music and want to seek some historical balance in my listening. I will never play this stuff, but want to soak up as much as I can. I mostly listen to this type of music live.

My pleasure bro. All links are the Amazon pages (opening in a new window so you dont leave this page).

There are actually some videos that have some great Music and Tain footage. Branford Marsalis has a Documentary made after him Called [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6302463238/qid=1039152623/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/102-1737332-5220940?v=glance&s=video&n=507846"] THE MUSIC TELLS YOU.[/ame] Footage of Branfords trio on the road, lots of Tain footage.
Wynton has an older video called [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/6301122666/qid=1039152701/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/102-1737332-5220940?v=glance&s=video"] Blues and Swing[/ame] which is both educational as well as entertaining. Good Tain on there too. Wyntons CD [ame="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002683/qid=1039152855/sr=1-6/ref=sr_1_6/102-1737332-5220940?v=glance&s=music"]Standard Time VOL I[/ame] is one of the best jazz CD's ever IMO.
Pretty much any CD from Branford with Tain is going to have some sick drumming on it. He's just ridiculous.
